Pilgrim Ponderings: October
In this month’s edition of our Pilgrims of Hope series, two of our sisters offer hopeful words.
And, upon hearing them both together, a word emerges…
First, a favorite excerpt from our psalter:
In him do our hearts find joy.
We trust in his holy name.
May your love be upon us, O Lord
as we place all our hope in you.
-Psalm 32(33)
Second, a personal reflection:
“Some time ago I read in one of Pope Francis’ publications that Hope is based on a promise.
Hope springs from a promise that I take to heart. So what is the promise that my hope is based on?
The answer came pretty quickly in a picture and in a word.
The word is Christ saying to us: I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS.
The picture is of a statue of Jesus that speaks volumes to me of the presence of Christ.
Thank you , Jesus, for giving me your word that you will be with always.”
…Jesus the Word, the Name – Hope in our midst.
